China And Israel Hold Arms Control And Non-proliferation Consultation

On 29 January 2008, Mr. Cheng Jingye, Director General of Department of Arms Control and Disarmament, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Mrs. Miriam Ziv, Deputy Director General for Strategic Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Israel jointly presided over China-Israel Arms Control and Non-proliferation Consultation in Beijing. The two sides exchanged views on a wide range of issues, including regional nuclear issues, the work of Conference on Disarmament, non-proliferation export control, Nuclear Suppliers Group and cluster munition. Both sides viewed the consultation frank, pragmatic and conducive to enhancing cooperation between China and Israel in the field of arms control and non-proliferation.
