Mr. Chairman, The Chinese delegation has noted the proposal on the assurance of nuclear fuel supply as put forward jointly by the UK, some other EU countries, the US and Russia. In recent years, with a view to promoting peaceful uses of nuclear energy and effectively meeting the challenges of nuclear non-proliferation as a result of the global nuclear energy development, parties concerned have put forward a number of proposals on establishing and strengthening an assured multilateral fuel supply regime. Some of these proposals have been approved by the Board. China in principle supports all efforts aimed at promoting peaceful uses of nuclear energy and strengthening the international non-proliferation regime. Generally speaking, we are open-minded about the proposals on the establishment and strengthening of a multilateral regime of nuclear fuel supply assurance. We have also noted the concerns as expressed by some countries over the proposals on nuclear fuel assurance. We encourage all parties concerned to conduct extensive discussions and consultations on the matter in order to seek a solution acceptable to all Thank you, Mr. Chairman.
