As the sole multilateral negotiating body for disarmament, the Conference on Disarmament (CD) plays an irreplaceable role in promoting the international arms control, disarmament and non-proliferation process.

China welcomes the adoption of the Program of Work of the CD in May 2009, and hopes the CD will advance all substantive work in a balanced way. China will continue to participate in the work of the CD in a positive and constructive manner, and make joint efforts with all parties to constantly push forward the work of the CD.
