Zeng Qinghong Meets with Saint Lucian Foreign Minister

On the afternoon of August 26, Chinese Vice President Zeng Qinghong met in the Great Hall of the People with Petrus Compton, Minister for External Affairs, International Trade and Civil Aviation of Saint Lucia.

Zeng said that since the establishment of diplomatic ties between the two countries 8 years ago, bilateral relations have been developing smoothly and the cooperation in the bilateral and multilateral areas has scored gratifying achievements. Both sides are developing countries and to continue to strengthen bilateral exchanges and cooperation in various fields conforms to the common aspiration and fundamental interest of the two peoples. It is hoped that both sides will make joint efforts to push for greater development of bilateral relations. Zeng appreciates the Saint Lucian government's adherence to the one-China policy.

Compton thanked the Chinese government for assistance over the years. He reiterated that the Saint Lucian government will resolutely pursue the one-China policy and expressed that Saint Lucia is willing to deepen the friendly cooperative relations with China in various areas.
