On December 23, 2004, China and Venezuela signed the Minutes on the Third Meeting of the High-Level Joint Committee of the two governments. Venezuela declared in the Minutes that it recognizes China's full market economy status. Both sides believe this recognition will help the two countries cooperate in the World Trade Organization and further boost the bilateral economic and trade relations.
