In 2010, the relationship between the People's Republic of China and Dominica developed smoothly, with deepening exchanges and cooperation in the political, business, people-to-people and cultural fields. The two countries maintained political exchanges. In July, Dominican President Nicolas Liverpool attended the CARICOM Day at the Shanghai World Expo and visited Jiangsu Province. In June, Dominican Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit visited Macao and met with Chief Executive Fernando Chui Sai On. In October, Minister Collin McIntyre for Employment, Trade, Industry and Diaspora Affairs attended the closing ceremony of the Shanghai World Expo. Economic and technical cooperation progressed smoothly. The Roseau-Portsmouth Road Rehabilitation Project had registered smooth progress since its launch on 26 February. Bilateral cooperation in agricultural and medical technologies and the technical cooperation on the stadium were well in progress. Bilateral people-to-people and cultural exchanges continued in 2010. China kept providing scholarships to Dominican students to study in China and received officials and technicians from Dominica in various training programs in China.
