At 11:14 p.m. on May 4, 2009 (Beijing Time), with the concerted efforts of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) and the Chinese embassies and consulates in the United States and Mexico, China Southern Airlines sent a chartered plane from Guangzhou to Mexico to bring home the stranded Chinese citizens staying in Mexico due to suspended Mexican flights. The chartered plane is expected to arrive in Shanghai on the morning of May 6 (Beijing Time).
