China-Japan Climate Change Dialogue Held in Beijng

The Chinese delegation, headed by Mr. Gao Feng, Acting Director-General of the Department of Treaty and Law of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of P. R. China and the Japanese delegation headed by Mr. Hideo Fukushima, Director of the Climate Change Division of the Multilateral Cooperation Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan held consultations on climate change in Beijing on 3 March 2004.

The two sides exchanged views extensively in the field of climate change and both sides recognized the importance of sustainable development and innovative technologies in addressing climate change. The consultation was conducted in an atmosphere of friendship and sincerity, and both sides share the view that the cooperation and dialogue should continue in the future.
