Yang Jiechi Holds Talks with Finnish Foreign Minister Stubb

On November 2, 2009, Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi held talks with his visiting Finnish counterpart Alexander Stubb. Yang said China-Finland relations enjoy a firm political, economic and public opinion basis and have been developing very well in recent years. Both sides have conducted fruitful cooperation in all areas and maintained sound communication and coordination in international and regional affairs. China appreciates Finland's long-term adherence to the one-China policy and is ready to take the opportunity of the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties and work with Finland to further enhance mutually beneficial cooperation in all areas and push bilateral ties for greater development.
Stubb said the two countries enjoy sound relations with frequent exchanges between their leaders and close cooperation in all areas. Finland firmly adheres to the one-China policy. Finland attaches importance to developing ties with China and is ready to continue working for in-depth development of bilateral ties. Both sides also exchanged views on international and regional issues of common concern. Stubb is here in China for an official visit from November 2 to 3 at the invitation of Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi.
