On Septmeber 11, 2003, Foreign Minister Li Zhaoxing sent condolences to the Swedish Foreign Ministry over the death of his Swedish counterpart Anna Lindh.

In the message, Li expressed his shock and sadness over Mrs. Lindh's death, and extended condolences to her family. He spoke highly of efforts and contributions made by Mrs. Lindh to promote the Sino-Swedish friendship.
