On June 22, 2011, Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Fu Ying met with Beat Nobs, Deputy Secretary of State of the Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs & Head of the Political Affairs Division II, Asia/Pacific. Fu made positive comments on the sound development of China-Switzerland relations, emphasizing both sides should further enhance equal dialogue, build up mutual understanding and strive to push forward bilateral pragmatic cooperation in all areas. Nobs said the relationship between the two countries has become a role model for mutually beneficial cooperation between countries with different national conditions. Switzerland always adheres to the one-China policy and is ready to expand cooperation with China in trade, finance and other areas a well as in international affairs.

On the same day, Director General Li Ruiyu of the Department of European Affairs of the MFA held talks with Nobs. Both sides exchanged views on bilateral ties as well as international issues of common concern.
