China and San Marino

In 2010, relations between the People's Republic of China and the Republic of San Marino grew steadily. The two sides maintained contact and dialogue and cooperation in various fields made new progress. In the wake of the Yushu earthquake, Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs Antonella Mularoni sent a letter of condolence to Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi. San Marino Ambassador to China (non resident) Savina Zafferani represented her government at the Opening Ceremony of the Shanghai World Expo. Secretary of State for Tourism, Sports, Economic Planning and Relations with Public Utilities State Corporation Fabio Berardi attended the National Day activities of the San Marino Pavilion during the Expo. Secretary of State for Industry, Handicrafts and Commerce Marco Arzilli attended the National Day events of the China Pavilion on behalf of his government. In June, China's Ambassador to San Marino Ding Wei presented his credentials to then Captains Regent Marco Conti and Glauco Sansovini. In July, San Marino's Honorary Consulate in Hong Kong expanded its consulate district to cover Macao.
