Assistant Foreign Minister Zhai Jun Meets with Israeli Deputy Speaker of the Knesset Whbee

On September 5, 2007, Chinese Assistant Foreign Minister Zhai Jun met with visiting Israeli Deputy Speaker of the Knesset (parliament) Majalli Whbee.

Zhai said since the two countries forged diplomatic ties 15 years ago, bilateral friendly cooperative ties have been growing rapidly with the joint efforts of both sides. China is ready to conduct multi-level exchanges and cooperation in all forms with Israel, he said.

Whbee said bilateral relations have witnessed rapid development with fruitful cooperation in all fields. Israel attaches importance to ties with China and is ready to strengthen exchanges and cooperation between the governments, parliaments, political parties and peoples of the two countries. Whbee reaffirmed that the Israeli government and parliament will continue adherence to the one-China policy.

Both sides also exchanged views on the situation in the Middle East.
