Vice Premier Wu Bangguo Concludes His Official Visit to Kuwait

Vice Premier Wu Bangguo left Kuwait for home on the evening of Nov. 23, 2000 after concluding his official visit to Kuwait.
During the visit, Wu held talks with Kuwaiti First Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, during which they agreed that a positive momentum has been maintained in developing bilateral ties in political, economic, trade, oil, cultural and other fields, since the establishment of diplomatic ties between China and Kuwait. They also agreed that the political ties between the two countries are good and economic conditions in the two countries are complementary. There are great potentials for further economic cooperation. The two sides also expressed their willingness to work together to deepen the traditional friendship between the two peoples, to further push forward the all-round development of bilateral relations and forge long-term friendly relations and cooperation oriented towards the new century. Officials accompanying Wu on his visits held talks with their counterparts in Kuwait, during which they discussed how to further promote the economic and trade cooperation between the two countries. Wu also visited the Sci-tech Hall of Kuwait and its oil-collecting station and met with the staff of the Chinese Embassy to Kuwait and representatives of Chinese institutes and companies in Kuwait.
