Q:Israel has recently announced that it is going to withdraw its troops from south Lebanon in July this year. What is your comment on it?


A: China is always of the view that the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Lebanon should be respected and Israel should implement the UN Security Council resolution No. 1172 by withdrawing its troops from South Lebanon. Given this position, we welcome the decision made by Israel, and hope that it will help to promote all-round progress in the Middle East peace talks and an early realization of peace and stability in the Middle East.
