On March 1st, Vice Foreign Minister Dai Bingguo met with Chairman of the Palestinian National Authority Mahmoud Abbas when he was attending the London Conference on Supporting the Palestinian National Authority.

Dai conveyed to Abbas Chinese President Hu Jintao's greetings and invitation for him to visit China, expressing appreciations to Abbas for his unswerving efforts to push forward the institutional building of Palestine and promoting the comprehensive resumption of peace talks between Palestine and Israel. He reiterated that China would continue to support the just undertaking of the Palestinian people and would offer assistance to Palestine from various aspects.

Abbas asked Dai to convey his greetings to President Hu. He stressed the Palestinian people will never forget the moral and material support China has offered to Palestine over the years and Palestine will, as always, enhance friendly relations with China.
