On September 24, 2007, Assistant Foreign Minister Kong Quan met with the Assistant Deputy Minister of Culture and Information of Saudi Arabia Aziz who came to China especially to prepare for the second seminar on China-Arab relations and China-Arab civilization dialogue of China-Arab Cooperation Forum.

Kong made positive comments on the development of China-Arab and China-Saudi Arabia relations. He stressed that the Chinese side values the development of China-Arab Cooperation Forum and is ready to work closely with Saudi Arabia to make careful preparations for the seminar and promote the mutual understanding and learning from each other between the Chinese and the Arab-Islamic civilizations as well as the harmonious development of the world.

Aziz said that the King of Saudi Arabia attaches great importance to the seminar and expects to take the dialogue and seminar as a platform to push forward the exchanges between China and Arabic countries in the cultural, academic and educational sectors and promote the dialogue and integration of world civilizations.
