On the evening of September 17, Foreign Minister Li Zhaoxing talked over phone with his Sudanese counterpart Ismail. The two further exchanged views on the Security Council's decision to discuss the new draft resolution on the issue of Darfur. Li talked about the situation of recent communications with other member states of the Security Council. Ismail said that the Sudanese side has taken further active measures to the situation in Darfur and expressed that Sudan will continue to enhance cooperation with the UN as well as with the African Union and the Arabic Union.
