Foreign Minister Li Zhaoxing, at invitation, talked with the Foreign Minister of Sudan Dr. Mustafa Osman Ismail over phone at night, February 2, 2005. Both sides agreed to continue to develop the friendly cooperation between the two countries in various fields following the principle of mutual respect, equality and mutual benefit. Ismail introduced the latest developments of the peace process of Sudan and the Darfur issue. Li said that Sudan's north-south peace deal is hard-won and parties concerned should make great effort to consolidate and push forward the peace process of Sudan.
