Twenty Sudanese soldiers have finished a humanitarian land mine-clearing training course in Nanjing, capital of east China's Jiangsu Province.

The course lasted six weeks and was held by the University of Science and Technology of the People's Liberation Army of China. During the program, the soldiers from the north and south of Sudan learned the use of equipment and the procedure for mine-clearing actions. They also carried out mine-clearing field exercises. After the training, China will donate land mine detection and clearing equipment to Sudan.

The course was an important step in the Chinese government's active participation in international mine-clearing, and it also demonstrates the Chinese government's firm support for Sudan's national reconciliation process. China will further develop friendly and cooperative relations with the Sudanese people, including those in the south, and continue to make contributions to the peace, stability and development of Sudan.
