On June 4, 2009, Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Wang Guangya met in the Foreign Ministry with Egyptian Assistant Foreign Minister for Asian Affairs Mohammed Abdel Rehim Al Zorkani, who is here for a working visit.

Wang made positive comments on bilateral ties, emphasizing that China attaches importance to developing cooperation with Egypt in all areas and hopes to maintain close high-level exchanges. He urged both sides to well prepare for the fourth ministerial meeting of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) to be held in Egypt this year and push China-Egypt, China-Africa friendly cooperative relations to a higher level.

Zorkani said that Egypt very much admires China's enormous development achievements in recent years and is ready to continue expanding pragmatic cooperation with China in trade, investment and other sectors. Egypt will work closely with China to ensure the success of the fourth ministerial meeting of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC).
