Li Zhaoxing Meets with Minister in the Office of the Prime Minister of Myanmar

On September 29, 2004, Chinese Foreign Minister Li Zhaoxing met with Minister U Tin Winn in the Office of the Prime Minister of Myanmar in New York and the two exchanged views on further enhancing the cooperation in all fields between the two countries. Li said that China and Myanmar are close neighbors who enjoys mutual respect, mutual trust and mutual support. The Chinese side hopes that in Myanmar, there is political stability, a developing economy, harmonious coexistence between different nations as well as people living in harmony. U expressed that the two peoples enjoy "twins" like emotions and Myanmar will unswervingly uphold the one China principle. On the same day, Li Zhaoxing also met with President Channel of the US Foundation and had a friendly talk with him. Channel spoke highly of China's active role in regional and international affairs.
