On November 19, 2008, The China-Myanmar diplomatic consultation was held in Kunming, capital city of China's Yunnan province. Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Wu Dawei and his Myanmar counterpart U Kyaw Thu attended the consultation.

During the talks, the two sides reviewed positive progress made in bilateral ties, and agreed to work together to enhance good-neighborly friendship, expand mutually beneficial cooperation and advance the bilateral relations.

U Kyaw Thu also reiterated Myanmar's adherence to the one-China policy, for which Wu expressed thanks.
