Yang Jiechi Holds Talks with Pakistani Foreign Minister Qureshi

On February 22, 2010, Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi held talks with his Pakistani counterpart Shah Mahmood Qureshi in Beijing. Yang hailed the sound development of the strategic and cooperative partnership between the two nations, pointing to close high-level exchanges and deepening political trust between both sides. The two sides have shown mutual understanding and support for their respective concerns with remarkable results of bilateral economic and trade cooperation, expanding humanities exchanges and increasing friendship between both peoples. In the new year, China is ready to continue keeping the momentum of high-level exchanges with Pakistan, deepen pragmatic cooperation in all areas, expand people-to-people and cultural contacts and strengthen coordination and cooperation in international and regional affairs so as to safeguard regional peace and stability. China is ready to work with Pakistan to push bilateral ties to a new level. Qureshi said the Pakistan-China friendly relations are Pakistan’s most important relations. To further develop the good-neighborly friendship with China is the common aspiration of the Pakistani government and people. Pakistan is ready to work with China to continuously strengthen cooperation in all areas. Pakistan thanks for China’s support and assistance for Pakistan’s economic and social development and resolutely supports the Chinese government’s measures for safeguarding national stability and unity and combating the “three evil forces”.
