
On January 30, 2013, Vice Foreign Minister Xie Hangsheng met with the delegation of Federation of Filipino Chinese Chambers of Commerce & Industry, Inc. (FFCCCII) in the Diaoyutai State Guesthouse.
After briefing the delegation on China-Philippine relations, the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China and China's domestic development, Xie extended the Chinese government's thanks to FFCCCII for its efforts in cultivating friendship between China and the Philippines, its support of China's economic and social development, and its promotion of China's peaceful reunification. He hoped that FFCCCII will make the best of its own influence, carry forward the fine tradition of conducting educational, charitable and social welfare projects in the Philippines, strive to build harmonious Chinese communities, and play a positive role as a bridge between China and the Philippines to enhance friendship between the two countries and bring greater benefits to the two peoples.
For their part, Lucio C. Tan, FFCCCII's Chairman Emeritus, and Tan Ching, FFCCCII President, thanked Xie for taking time out of his busy schedule to meet them, saying that FFCCCII will continue to play a positive role in promoting China-Philippine friendship and cooperation in various fields.
