Wen Jiabao Meets with Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai on the Sidelines of the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting of New Champions 2009

On September 10, 2009, Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao met in Dalian with Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting of New Champions 2009, also known as the Summer Davos. Premier Wen said that the Communist Party of China (CPC) and the Chinese government have always attached importance to developing ties with Vietnam. The enhanced cooperation between China and Vietnam under the current complex and volatile international situation complies with common interests of both countries. The two countries should actively implement various consensus and agreements reached between both sides and remain committed to safeguarding regional stability and expanding mutually beneficial cooperation. Both sides should take the opportunity to boost bilateral ties as the Year of Friendship will come next year, said Wen. Hoang Trung Hai said that the relations between the two countries and their ruling parties have been consolidated and achieved continuous development. Vietnam remains firmly committed to implementing Vietnam-China comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership and is ready to keep high-level exchanges with China, expand mutually beneficial cooperation in all areas and step up contacts with China on international and regional affairs.
