On January 22, 2008, Premier Wen Jiabao of the State Council met in Ziguangge, Zhongnanhai with visiting Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Vietnam Pham Gia Khiem who was attending the second meeting of the Steering Committee on China-Vietnam Bilateral Relations in Beijing. Both sides exchanged opinions on the bilateral relations and issues of common concern.

State Councilor Tang Jiaxuan was present at the meeting.
