On February 24, 2009, Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi held talks with Yu Myung-hwan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of the Republic of Korea, in Diaoyutai State Guesthouse. Both sides vowed to work together to implement all the consensus reached by the leaders of both countries. They agreed to increase exchanges and cooperation to jointly cope with the international financial crisis and push forward China-ROK relations.

They also exchanged views on the six-party talks on the Korean Peninsular nuclear issue and other regional and international issues of common concern.
