On December 23, 2009, Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi met with departing ROK Ambassador to China Shin Jung-seung.

Yang thanked for Shin Jung-seung's positive efforts for the development of bilateral ties during his tenure, expressing hope that he will continue contributing to China-ROK ties in his new post. Yang said that China and the Republic of Korea (ROK) share broad common interests and their relations enjoy wide prospect. China is ready to work with the ROK to push forward bilateral relations.

Shin Jung-seung spoke highly of the rapid development of bilateral ties in recent years and thanked for the great support Foreign Minister Yang and the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs have offered to him and the ROK Embassy in China, expressing willingness to continue making unremitting efforts for bilateral ties.
