Wu Bangguo Meets with Indonesian President Susilo

Wu said the NPC, the Indonesian Parliament, the People's Consultative Assembly and the Regional Representatives Council have forged sound cooperation and made contributions to the development of the China-Indonesia strategic partnership in recent years. Wu expressed his hope that the legislative bodies of the two countries will carry forward the tradition of cooperation, meet the need of deepening the ties and conform to both peoples' aspiration to enhance friendship. He urged both sides to keep close contacts, promote pragmatic cooperation and work together to vitalize and enrich their strategic partnership. Susilo expressed satisfaction with the Indonesia-China relations in recent years. He said the friendship between people is an important pillar of the bilateral strategic partnership. The exchanges and cooperation between the governments, parliaments and localities are based on people-to-people friendship. Indonesia is willing to further strengthen all-round friendly cooperation with China and promote their respective national development through this cooperation. He spoke highly of the achievements China has made in economic and social development, saying that a growing and stable China will play a significant role in maintaining peace, stability and development of the Asia-Pacific region and the world at large.
