On August 21, 2007, Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Zhang Yesui met with a delegation headed by Frederick Ma Si-Hang, Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) government. Zhang expressed welcome for Ma's visit to the Foreign Ministry and briefed the guest on the domestic situation, foreign exchanges and Hong Kong-related foreign affairs. Zhang said the Foreign Ministry will, as always, support HKSAR to conduct and expand foreign exchanges and to build Hong Kong into an international conference and exhibition center.

Ma expressed thanks for the support and assistance that the Foreign Ministry and the Office of the Commissioner of the MFA of the P.R.C. in the HKSAR have offered over the years to the SAR for its foreign exchanges and cooperation.
