On November 2, 2007, Chinese Assistant Foreign Minister Kong Quan met with European Policy Centre (EPC) founder Stanley Crossick, who is on a visit to China at the invitation of China Reform Forum. During the meeting, Kong made positive comments on China-EU ties, expressing hope that Crossick, as a senior EU scholar, will continue his positive role in strengthening academic exchanges and contribute to the deepening of China-EU comprehensive strategic partnership. Crossick expressed willingness to offer policy suggestions on building political trust and expanding cooperation in all areas, and to play an active role for the development of EU-China ties. Both sides also discussed the EU integration process, China-EU trade relations and other issues.
