On April 15, 2008, Chinese Assistant Foreign Minister Liu Jieyi met with Mike Smith, Executive Director of the UN Security Council's Counter-Terrorism Committee Executive Directorate (CTED), exchanging views on counter-terrorism and other issues. On the same day, Director-General of the Department of International Organizations and Conferences Wu Hailong held talks with Smith.
