Vice Foreign Minister Zhang Yesui Meets with Delegation Headed by Former Hungarian Prime Minister Medgyessy

On May 20, 2008, Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Zhang Yesui met in the Foreign Ministry with former Hungarian Prime Minister Medgyessy Peter and his delegation. Zhang made positive comments on the current China-Hungary relations and spoke highly of Medgyessy's contributions to the development of bilateral ties. Zhang also introduced the latest developments of the Wenchuan earthquake disaster and China's relief efforts and expressed thanks for the condolences and support offered by the Hungarian government. Medgyessy expressed condolences over China's earthquake disaster and spoke highly of the Chinese government's timely, effective response to the quake. He said Hungary attaches importance to developing ties with China and will continue to adhere to the one-China policy and expand mutually beneficial cooperation with China. He also wished the Beijing Olympic Games a success. The Hungarian delegation is scheduled to pay a visit to China from May 19 to 29 at the invitation of the Chinese People's Institute of Foreign Affairs. Besides Beijing, the delegation will also visit Shanghai and Guangzhou.
