On April 23, 2009, Chinese Assistant Foreign Minister Wu Hongbo met in the Foreign Ministry with a delegation headed by the Director-General for Political Affairs of the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Both sides exchanged views on Sino-Dutch relations and other issues of common concern. Wu said the Chinese government attaches importance to developing ties with the Netherlands and is ready to work with it to deepen political trust, accommodate each other's concerns, strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation and push for new progress of bilateral relations in all areas based on the principle of mutual respect and equality. The Dutch side reaffirmed that the Netherlands adheres to the one-China policy and is ready to further enhance friendly and mutually beneficial cooperation with China in all areas.
