On September 14, 2011, Vice Foreign Minister Cui Tiankai had a courtesy meeting with Mr. Goh Sin Teck, the newly appointed Editor of Singapore's Lianhe Zaobao.

Cui spoke positively of the long-term importance attached by Lianhe Zaobao to the reporting on China. He expressed the hope that Lianhe Zaobao would continue to leverage its advantages of understanding China to report China in an objective, all-round and in-depth manner and play an active role in consolidating the friendship between the Chinese and Singaporean people and in helping the international community understand China. Cui also introduced China's achievements since the reform and opening-up and China's foreign policy.

Mr. Goh Sin Teck said that China's social and economic achievements have attracted worldwide attention. Lianhe Zaobao will always adhere to the objective and fair principle, increase the coverage on China in newspapers and networks and on other platforms and make its humble contribution to promoting the development of bilateral relations and showing a real China to the international community.
