On September 30, 2011, Chinese Vice Premier Wang Qishan met with Lael Brainard, the U.S. Department of the Treasury's under secretary for international affairs, in Zhongnanhai. Wang listened to Brainard's briefings on the current global economic and financial situation and preparations for the upcoming Group of 20 Leaders Summit in Cannes. They also exchanged views on China-U.S. economic relations.
