On Nov. 9, 2011, Vice Premier Wang Qishan met with Christine Lagarde, Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund, Supachai Panitchpakdi, Secretary-General of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), Charles Dallara, CEO of the Institute of International Finance, and some other foreign delegates attending the International Finance Forum (IFF) 2011 Annual Global Conference. The two sides exchanged views on the current world economic situation, the European sovereign debt crisis, opposing trade protectionism and other topics of common interest.
