On March 19, 2012, Premier Wen Jiabao met in the Great Hall of the People with the 90 overseas delegates to China Development Forum 2012 and exchanged views in a friendly and sincere atmosphere with them on China's reform and opening up, China-US business relations, intellectual property protection, RMB internationalization, foreign investment in China, the European debt crisis and other issues. Wen said that the China Development Forum has been held for 13 years and he has participated in all of them. Many famous entrepreneurs, scholars and economists in the world are very committed to the Forum, showing their full confidence in China's reform and opening up and cause of modernization. Foreign friends should be confident that the direction and policy of reform and opening up of China cannot be changed and will not be changed. China's reform undertakings will move on and never stop. Its friendly exchanges with the rest of the world, especially business cooperation will continue to develop and never be weakened. China's development and progress over the years can strengthen the confidence of friends in the future of China. More than 30 years of reform and opening up have indicated that China cannot develop or progress without the world. Likewise, the development and progress of the world also needs China. China and the world have become too close to be separated and we must strengthen friendship and cooperation. We hope that foreign business communities, experts and scholars offer suggestions on China's reform and development. We will take an open and inclusive attitude because we understand that only by being open and inclusive can China make progress. Foreign co-chair of the Forum Andrew Liveris thanked Wen for taking time to meet the delegates. He said that they will take Wen's suggestions modestly and respectfully. Li Wei and Liu He, officials of the State Council Development Research Center were present at the meeting.
