Hu Jintao Arrives in Seoul for the Nuclear Security Summit

On March 25, 2012, President Hu Jintao arrived in Seoul, capital of the Republic of Korea (ROK) to attend the Nuclear Security Summit to be held from March 26 to 27.

At 19:00 local time, the chartered plane carrying Hu Jintao landed at the airport. Hu and his wife Liu Yongqing were warmly received by the senior representatives of the ROK government.

Ling Jihua, Wang Huning and Dai Bingguo arrived by the same plane.

Chinese ambassador to the ROK also received them at the airport.

The Seoul Nuclear Security Summit is the follow-up conference of the 2010 Washington Nuclear Security Summit. With the theme of strengthening the security of nuclear materials and facilities, the Seoul Summit will comprehensively review the progress made by the international community in nuclear security since the Washington Summit and focus on discussing how to strengthen the national measures and international cooperation on nuclear security. Leaders of more than 50 countries and related international organizations will attend the Summit.

Hu will deliver an important speech to the Summit to elaborate China's policy propositions, efforts and major measures in the field of nuclear security. During the stay, Hu will also hold bilateral meetings with leaders of relevant countries.

After the Nuclear Security Summit, Hu will attend the fourth meeting of BRICS leaders in New Deli, India and pay a state visit to Cambodia.
