Wen Jiabao Meets with Indonesian President Susilo
On March 23, 2012, Premier Wen Jiabao met with Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono in Diaoyutai State Guesthouse.
Wen pointed out in recent years, China's relations with Indonesia have maintained a sound momentum and have withstood the tests of the complex regional and international situation. Wen expressed the belief that the Indonesian president's visit will further expand bilateral political mutual trust, as well as increase exchanges and cooperation in multiple fields. China is ready to work with Indonesia to further implement consensus, seize new opportunities and address new issues between the two nations in order to boost good-neighborly friendship and common development.
Wen pointed out that East Asia is facing increasing internal and external challenges. China and ASEAN, as strategic partners, should firmly support and coordinate with each other to push East Asian cooperation in the proper direction, as well as make unremitting efforts to promote regional peace, stability and prosperity.
Susilo said he was very glad to visit China in a friendly and positive atmosphere. Indonesia attaches great importance to its ties with China and wishes to learn about China's successful experiences in national development. Indonesia welcomes Chinese companies to expand their investment in Indonesia and is willing to boost its strategic communication and pragmatic cooperation with China to help fortify ASEAN-China relations and East Asian cooperation for the benefit of both countries and people in the region, Susilo said.
Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi, Minister of Commerce Chen Deming and other officials attended the meeting.
