2012/03/30

On March 29, 2012, Vice Foreign Minister Cheng Guoping attended the reception marking the 20th anniversary of the establishment of China-Uzbekistan diplomatic relations held by the Uzbek embassy in China.

Cheng said in his speech, since the establishment of diplomatic relations 20 years ago, bilateral ties have maintained healthy and stable development. The two sides have established friendly and cooperative partnership, with close high-level exchanges, deepened mutual political trust and fruitful cooperation in trade, energy, science and technology, security, culture and other fields. President Karimov's visit to China in 2011 as well as the establishment of bilateral inter-governmental cooperation committee at Vice-Premier level has pushed the bilateral relations to a new level. China is willing to work hand in hand with Uzbekistan, take the 20th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties as an opportunity and fully implement the consensus reached by leaders of the two countries, to continuously enrich the connotations of bilateral relations and promote the Sino-Uzbek cooperation to a new level.

Uzbek Ambassador to China Salakhitdinov said Uzbekistan is a reliable friend and partner of China in Central Asia. Under the care and promotion of President Karimov and President Hu Jintao, the bilateral friendly and cooperative partnership has developed rapidly, with fruitful cooperation in various fields and deepening traditional friendship between the two peoples. The Uzbek side firmly supports China's foreign policy of peace and will continue to abide by the one-China principle and carry out all-round cooperation with China in bilateral, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and other multilateral frameworks.
