E. A Brief Introduction to the International Press Center



The International Press (IPC) opened its door in May 2000. It was created to serve the professional and social needs of all resident and visiting foreign journalists and press officers of diplomatic missions in China.

The IPC is attached to the Information Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Its main functions are:

1,To organize briefings, interviews, visits and other activities.

2,To provide written and audio-visual materials and information on China.

3,To handle the registration and the issuance, renewal and cancellation of press cards.

4,To provide information and assistance for resident and visiting foreign journalists on their living and working in China.

Monday to Thursday:9:00a.m.-16:00p.m.

Friday:9:00a.m.-11:30a.m.
