Q: The judicial panel in Naha, Okinawa, Japan reportedly decided once again on July 21 that the Chinese captain involved in the Diaoyu Islands incident last year should be indicted. The Naha District Public Procuratorate will therefore bring an indictment against the Chinese captain. What is China's comment? A: I would like to reiterate that the Diaoyu Island and its affiliated islands have been China's inherent territory since ancient times. Any so-called judicial procedure against Chinese citizens adopted by Japan in this regard is illegal and invalid.
