On November 6, 2013, Vice Premier of the State Council Zhang Gaoli met with Croatian First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Vesna Pusić at Ziguangge of Zhongnanhai.
Zhang Gaoli said that China and Croatia share a profound traditional friendship. The Chinese government attaches importance to the comprehensive cooperative partnership with Croatia, and is willing to join efforts with Croatia to promote the bilateral pragmatic cooperation to serve the economic development of both countries. China supports its enterprises in participating in the construction of ports, roads and other infrastructures in Croatia, and is willing to expand the scale of two-way trade and investment and strengthen cooperation in tourism with Croatia.
Zhang Gaoli said he believes that Croatia's entry into the EU facilitate its better development. China-Europe relations are one of the most important bilateral relations in the world, and cooperation between China and Central and Eastern European countries forms a significant part of China-Europe relations. China will make joint efforts with Croatia to promote in-depth development of China-Europe comprehensive strategic partnership and the cooperation between China and Central and Eastern European countries.
Vesna Pusić said that Croatia is willing to strengthen cooperation with China in fields such as economy and trade, and people-to-people and cultural exchanges, and to jointly promote the Europe-China relations and cooperation between Central and Eastern European countries and China to achieve greater development.
