On 7 November 2013, Chinese Vice President Li Yuanchao held talks in Beijing with Brazilian Vice President Michel Temer.
Li Yuanchao said that both China and Brazil are at the important stage of economic and social development and the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries enjoys broad prospects for development. Hope both sides will strengthen political and strategic mutual trust, earnestly promote cooperation in the fields of economy, trade, investment, energy and mining, infrastructure construction, finance and agriculture and enhance coordination in major international and regional affairs so as to jointly promote unity and cooperation among BRICS countries and to push for in-depth development of China-Latin America comprehensive cooperative partnership.
Temer expressed that in recent years, Brazil-China relations have been fully uplifted. Brazil looks forward to both sides maintaining the momentum of high-level exchanges, expanding practical cooperation in all fields and keeping close coordination and cooperation in multilateral affairs to better benefit the two peoples.
Prior to the talks, Li Yuanchao held a welcome ceremony for Temer at the Great Hall of the People. Su Rong, Vice-Chairperson of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), was present.
