Foreign Minister Li Zhaoxing Meets Respectively with New Ambassadors to China from Belarus and Ukraine

On November 1 2004, Foreign Minister Li Zhaoxing met respectively with the new Ambassador Kharlap from Belarus to China and the new Ambassador Kamyshev from Ukraine to China.

Ambassador Kharlap and Ambassador Kamyshev noted respectively that Belarus and Ukraine attach great importance to the relations with China and stand ready to always enhance the cooperation with China in the political, economic, scientific, technological and cultural field. The Belarus and Ukraine Government will unswervingly uphold the one China policy and firmly oppose "Two China" or "One China One Taiwan".

Li welcomed the two Ambassadors on their taking office and made active remarks on the development of relations between China and Belarus as well as China and Ukraine. He also thanked the two Governments for their valuable support to the Chinese side on the Taiwan Question.

Li also exchanged views with the two ambassadors on international and regional issues of common interest.
