On July 23, 2005, Chinese President Hu Jintao sent a message to his Egyptian counterpart Mubarak on the terrorist attack rocking Sharm el-Sheik, Egypt to strongly condemn such terrorist and violent behavior against innocent citizens.

On behalf of the Chinese government and people and in his own name, Hu expressed deep grief over those killed in the bomb blasts and extended sincere condolence to the injured and the victims' families.

Hu reiterated that the Chinese government opposes terrorism in whatever form and stands ready to work with the international community including Egypt to strengthen anti-terrorism cooperation and jointly fight against terrorism.
