On the morning of September 19, 2005, Chinese Foreign Minister Li Zhaoxing, who was attending the 60th Session of the UN General Assembly in New York, met respectively with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, Bolivian Foreign Minister Armando Loaiza and Mexican Foreign Minister Ernesto Derbez. When meeting with Lavrov, Li said that the heads of state of China and Russia have held frequent meetings and reached a range of new important consensuses on furthering bilateral relations. China would like to keep closer coordination with Russia, actively implement the consensuses and push the sound momentum of bilateral relations for continuous development. Russia is satisfied that the bilateral relations have enjoyed smooth development and scored positive achievements and will double its efforts to implement the consensuses reached between the two heads of state in a bid to push for comprehensive and in-depth development of bilateral strategic cooperative partnership, Lavrov said. When meeting with Loaiza, Li noted that since the establishment of diplomatic ties between China and Bolivia, the mutual political trust has been enhanced and the economic and trade cooperation has been expanded. China attaches great importance to developing bilateral relations and would like to work with Bolivia and take the 20th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties as the opportunity to further develop and expand their friendly cooperative relations. China appreciates the Bolivian government for pursuing the one-China policy. Loaiza indicated that the development of bilateral relations has reached a new level. Currently, China is playing a more and more important role in international affairs, while Bolivia is committed to its own development and strengthening relations with the Pacific Region. Bolivia would like to further the friendly cooperation with China and will continue to adhere to the one-China policy. When President Hu Jintao visited Mexico not long ago, he reached important consensuses with his Mexican counterpart Vicente Fox on pushing for mutually beneficial cooperation and deepening strategic partnership, Li noted when meeting with Derbez. China would like to make concerted efforts with Mexico to earnestly implement the consensuses reached between the leaders of both sides, push for all-round development of bilateral relations and pursue mutual benefits and common development. Derbez said that Mexico and China share broad common interest. Mexico stands ready to strengthen cooperation with China in various areas and push for continuous progress of bilateral strategic partnership.
