On October 25, 2005, Assistant Minister Shen Guofang met with Washington Post columnist Novak to take questions from him on China-US relations, China-Japan relations as well as the Korean Peninsula Nuclear Issue.

Novak was paying a visit to China at the invitation of the People's Daily.
